Detail Wood Siding Research

A look into siding detail research. We wanted to compare spacing between the burnt wood boards with materials/transparencies behind. We also wanted to experiment with how we are going to burn the wood. A choice between only burning the faces (which provides detailed contrast in tighter spacing to natural wood sides) or burning the entire board. There are also different levels of char you can produce that determine sheen, stability and scaling effect of the wood surface. Each choice leaves subtle aesthetic differences. Which is best?
